How long should my first tanning session be?

It depends on your individual skin type and the level of equipment. Our consultants will evaluate your skin type to determine the time progression for your first 3 to 7 sessions, and the equipment that will best suit you.

Do I have to wear eyewear?

Yes, your eyes are sensitive to UV light and should not be exposed while tanning. A tan is created by UV light penetrating the upper layers of the skin. The skin on your eyelids is the thinnest on your body.

Do indoor lotions / accelerators really work?

Yes. Accelerators stimulate melanin’s rise to the surface of your skin. As melanin encounters UV light, it turns brown. The more melanin that reaches the skin’s surface the deeper and darker the tan. A quality indoor tanning lotion promotes the retention of moisture thus keeping your skin smooth ad supple while minimizing flaking.

Can I tan naked?

Sure. But remember the parts of your body that have previously been exposed to the sun can tolerate more exposure. You should expose the areas of your body that have not been exposed to UV light gradually.

What is a tingle?

Tingle is Benzyl or Methyl Nicotinate, an ingredient in some tanning lotions that increases the microcirculation in the epidermis, so that more oxygen is absorbed into your skin. Your skin needs oxygen to tan so the more oxygen your skin gets, the darker you will get.

Does all tanning equipment tan the same?

Absolutely not. The better the tanning bed / booth, the better your tan. There is a great disparity in quality of tans when using  “high-end” beds or booths verses “low-end” equipment used by many low budget salons. With high quality equipment your tan will be brown, not red and it will be deeper, darker, richer and will last longer. Remember, the main reason you go to a tanning salon is to get a quality tan. You should always evaluate a salon’s equipment before choosing a salon to join.
